Meet Gil Cohen-Magen
, one of the world’s top 100 photographers at this intimate lunch and learn, where you will get insight
into Cohen-Magen’s famous Hassidic Courtyards
series: A never-before done photographic study of the ultra-Orthodox in Israel over the past ten years.
This exposé of moments, surprises and impressions from the lives of Israel’s ultra-Orthodox, looks mostly at the anti-Zionist ultra-Orthodox communities. A rare glimpse at these closed communities and their beliefs and rituals, Cohen-Magen brings a no-holds barred look at rare ceremonies and gatherings which have never before been photographed by outsiders. He will also take you behind the scenes to how he – as an outsider – was allowed to enter and record these private communities’ moments.
So bring your lunch, and prepare to wrap your mind around Cohen-Magen’s images…and the stories behind each one. Cohen-Magen’s book and an assortment of prints will be on sale at the event.
This free event is open to the community. No registration required.
