Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Ad Sales Representative to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is commission-based, offering unlimited earning potential. The ideal candidate will be a true "people person" with excellent communication and customer service skills, a strong closing ability, and a determined attitude. A background in sales is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Familiarization with Products and Readership:
    Gain a deep understanding of The Kansas City Jewish Chronicle, its audience, and the advertising opportunities we offer.
  • Client Outreach and Relationship Building:
    • Identify and understand the unique needs of potential clients, providing personalized recommendations for advertising products or services.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients through proactive outreach.
    • Identify potential new clients and follow up on leads to expand our client base.
  • Sales and Account Management:
    • Engage with existing customers, fostering long-term relationships and encouraging repeat business.
    • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure smooth processing of new client invoicing, providing accurate contact information and necessary documentation.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Meet regularly with the Assistant Editor to discuss updates, client feedback, and sales strategies.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in ad sales, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while maintaining a high level of productivity.
  • Strong negotiation and consultative selling skills, with the ability to tailor pitches to the needs of different clients.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service via phone and email.
  • Familiarity with the Kansas City Jewish community is a plus, but not required.
