When the unthinkable happens, Jewish Federation is there. We are committed to care for victims of global natural disasters, and have emergency relief plans in place to aid those in immediate need. We provide a lifeline and support, funding basic short-term needs like food and medicine, as well as long-term needs like trauma counseling and community rebuilding.
On September 1st, Hurricane Dorian made landfall in the Bahamas, inflicting unprecedented damage. The crisis is ongoing, as the hurricane has reached communities along the U.S. East Coast, hitting Florida first, then (warnings suggest) Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and possibly Virginia next.
Our partner agency, JDC, has opened a disaster fund to help victims of the hurricane. Click here to make a donation.
The Greater Miami Jewish Federation and the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach have also opened funds for relief efforts. One hundred percent of funds donated to Hurricane Dorian relief will be used to provide critically needed aid to those in the Bahamas and other affected areas.
In times of crisis, it is our duty to help one another. Please give today to help these hurricane victims.
