JEWISH CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS

For many of us, attending an overnight Jewish summer camp was crucial to forming our Jewish identity. That’s why Jewish Federation has a fund to help children who would not otherwise be able to afford Jewish summer camp. The Rabbi Gershon Hadas Guardian Society scholarship fund has enabled thousands of young children to participate in Jewish overnight camps.

The Rabbi Gershon Hadas Guardian Society offers three scholarships: First-Time Camper Incentive Grants, Financial Assistance Scholarships, and Long-Term Israel Program Scholarships. First-Time Camper Grants for $1000 are available on a first-come first-served basis for children the first time they attend camp for three weeks or longer.* Financial assistance is available for those who need it regardless of the length of the camp stay. Long-Term Israel Program Scholarships are available for programs within Israel that take place over 3 months or longer.

*Please note: This is a change from previous years when smaller grants were also given for children attending camp for fewer than three weeks. Children now receive grants the first time they attend camp for three weeks or more, even if they have previously attended camp for a shorter period of time.
