JEWISH CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS
For many of us, attending an overnight Jewish summer camp was crucial to forming our Jewish identity. That’s why Jewish Federation has a fund to help children who would not otherwise be able to afford Jewish summer camp. The Rabbi Gershon Hadas Guardian Society scholarship fund has enabled thousands of young children to participate in Jewish overnight camps.
The Rabbi Gershon Hadas Guardian Society offers two scholarships: First-Time Camper Incentive Grants and Financial Assistance Scholarships. First-Time Camper Grants for $1000 are available on a first-come first-served basis for children the first time they attend camp for three weeks or longer.* Financial assistance is available for those who need it regardless of the length of the camp stay.
*Please note: This is a change from previous years, when smaller grants were also given for children attending camp for fewer than three weeks. Children now receive grants the first time they attend camp for three weeks or more, even if they have previously attended camp for a shorter period of time.
First-Time Camper and Financial Assistance scholarships are no longer available for Summer 2021. Applications for Summer 2022 will be available around November 15, 2021.
