Kara Kahn grew up in Kansas City and attended the University of Kansas. At KU, Kara studied journalism and was very involved in Hillel. Kara has made her career in fundraising, and currently works for the Jewish Community Foundation. She spending her free time outside with friends and family - including her dogs and horses! Kara loves being able to give to a community that has done so much for her.

A KC native--and recent returnee after many years spent in Philly and Minnesota--Jay spends his days as a fundraising and strategy consultant for nonprofits across the US. He also enjoys playing music, traveling, and attending arts events / festivals / museums. Jay is a proud UPenn and Goucher College alum. He is honored to give back to KC's Jewish community via JFED and YAD.

Amalia Newman is a KC transplant from Saint Louis, Missouri. She earned her degree in Mathematics from Mizzou, and now works as an Actuarial Analyst for Sun Life Financial. Amalia has always found purpose in involving herself with the Jewish community, and is excited to help other young people fall in love with this community. In her free time, you’ll find Amalia spending time with her nephew, trying new restaurants or activities in the area, or hanging out with friends.

Haley Seldin Bryan was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs. She went to University of Kansas for undergrad and graduate school with a focus in Accounting! She moved to Kansas City in May of 2022. She cares deeply about building community and is motivated to give back to a community that has been so welcoming to her.

Margo Hellman grew up in Overland Park and is a proud alum of the University of Kansas, where she majored in Journalism & Strategic Communications. She is a cat lady, an avid roller skater and an eternal optimist. Margo is community-minded, reliable and driven, with a natural inclination towards service and connection. Her involvement with the Jewish Federation is an extension of her values and her commitment to strengthening the Jewish people as her family has done before her.

Ben Novorr grew up in Lawrence, Kansas, Burke, Virginia, and Overland Park, Kansas, before attending KU for undergrad. Post-college, he moved to Kansas City after working out of state. Ben works at KU Hillel engaging the next generation of Jewish Jayhawks, but in his free time, loves nothing more than being active in the KC Jewish community. His favorite thing about Jewish Kansas City is that it's close knit but constantly growing.

Jack Schreiber is a California transplant who has resided in KC since 2021. He enjoys tennis, KC bbq and spending time with his wife and dog in his free time. Jack appreciates the opportunity to give back to the Jewish community and forming close bonds with YAD community members. His favorite thing about Jewish Kansas City is the variety of ways to get involved and how welcoming everyone is.
